A Legacy from 1843
Neo-Gothic Marvel
The present structure, completed in 1936, was designed by French architect Daly in the Neo-Gothic style, inspired by Germany’s Cologne Cathedral.
Architectural Grandeur
The cathedral follows a cruciform layout—nave (main hall), transepts (side wings), and the crossing (choir & altar).
King’s Vision
In 1933, Krishnarajendra Wodeyar IV laid the foundation for a grand cathedral, responding to the growing European population in Mysore.
Towering Spires
The twin spires of the church stand 175 feet tall, resembling those of St. Patrick’s Cathedral, New York, and Cologne Cathedral.
Stained Glass Wonders
The church features intricate stained-glass windows depicting scenes from Christ’s life, including the Last Supper and Crucifixion.
