Brindavan Garden was a dream project of Sir Mirza Ismail, the Dewan of Mysore, who was eager about making public areas pretty. His vision was inspired by the Mughal-style Shalimar Gardens in Kashmir. With the Krishnarajasagara Dam, he also made the Cauvery River high-level canal, which helped irrigate large part of Mandya district. The Brindavan Gardens were made by German plant expert and land artist Gustav Hermann Krumbiegel known for his skill in garden planning.

The Brindavan Gardens, taken care o͏f by the Cauvery Niravari Nigama, covers 60 acres and has a nearby 75-acre fruit farm and two plant farms, Nagavana and Chandravana. Made over three levels, the garden shows water sprays, shaped bushes, shaded areas, and different plants like Fig trees, Duranta plumaria, Euphorbia, Celosia, Marigold, and Bougainvillea.

A major attraction is the music fountain, where water jets dance to tunes, pulling in many people. Guests can also have fun boating on the lake in the garden. Open to the public with a fee to enter, the gardens got a makeover in 2005, updating the fountains with new tech. It closed for a short time in 2007 because of the Cauvery water issue, but it still remains a loved escape offering a calm mix of nature and art.

With well-kept grass, bright flower beds, water fountains and light and sound shows the Brindavan Garden is a place to visit. It offers guests a calm break in the beauty of nature.
